Follow our Instagram @adelphi3D for photos of current projects and equipment.
3D Studio services are available to Adelphi University students, faculty, administration and staff at this time.
The reduced introductory price is $0.20 per gram with a $2 setup fee per print. Project price will be calculated prior to printing. The introductory price is subject to change.
Payment is made from your Pcounter additional balance (not your free print balance). Add money to your Pcounter balance and we’ll deduct the 3D print cost from your account. Faculty who wish to pay through their department account will need to coordinate with the IT Purchasing department.
First you set up a consultation appointment with the 3D Studio staff. When we meet we discuss what you are looking to print and how to make it happen. From there our staff can provide you with the assistance necessary to make a workable file and will calculate a project price. After you pay, we will begin the print job. We will notify you once your print is finished.
Yes, we accept file types .stl and .obj. Our 3D Tech Specialists review the files using Autodesk Meshmixer to ensure exceptional print quality.
There are many free software applications available that export the file types required for printing. Tinkercad, Autodesk123D Design, Blender and Sculptris are popular free software available for use. There are several paid programs as well such as Maya, Rhinoceros and ZBrush.
Autodesk 123D Design and Blender are available in the Swirbul Infocommons Mac computers.
Printing time depends on size and density of an object. Most prints are completed in about 7 to 16 hours.
The maximum printing size is 12”L x 12”W x 18”H. However, you can assemble larger designs by connecting smaller prints.
