Adelphi alumni or any student who registers at least 60 days before the start of a workshop will receive a 15% discount.

This workshop is part of an online, asynchronous workshop, meaning it takes place online, on your own time. There are no live meetings, either in person or online. You can view and complete assignments on your own time to fit into your busy schedule. However, you will need to commit six hours each week to complete each workshop and hands-on skills training assignments. You will interact with your fellow students and your instructor via weekly collaborative discussion forums and submit interactive Panopto videos.

Your instructor will be available to meet with you virtually, by appointment.

Please note that this workshop is a one-week program and you can choose which week you wish to register for below as there are two calendar choices. Do not register for both weeks.

Hasan Sapci, MD, is a tenured assistant professor of healthcare informatics at Adelphi University, New York. After completing his family medicine residency and postgraduate education, Dr. Sapci practiced medicine in academic medical centers and state and research hospitals, and worked as a telemedicine specialist at the University of Michigan Health System. He also served in various administrative positions, including program director of MS in Healthcare Informatics at Northern Kentucky University and Michigan Technological University and chair of the Department of Allied Health at Adelphi University.

Dr. Sapci has extensive experience in applied information technology, connected health and artificial intelligence application in healthcare and has authored and co-authored many scientific articles. He founded a first-of-its-kind Health Informatics Simulation Laboratory and second-generation Smart Home Healthcare and Health Informatics Training Laboratories. Dr. Sapci served as an international remote patient monitoring expert, developed and coordinated educational programs for patients, and conducted telemedicine training sessions for healthcare staff. He designed and implemented innovative clinical informatics applications for several departments at the University of Michigan Health System and received the Fostering Innovation Grant.

Dr. Sapci has developed and taught first-of-its-kind, hands-on informatics skills training competency framework and various health informatics curricula on digital health, smart homes, artificial intelligence, telerobotics, telemedicine, data visualization, clinical decision support and data analytics. He serves on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology committees.
