Gender, Sex and Sexuality: Now and Then
Learn the history of gender, sex and sexuality—and study the disenfranchisement, discrimination and violence that LGBTQA+ communities have experienced through generations.
You’ll explore misunderstood terms—particularly related to gender identity—and address the roots of homophobia and heterosexism. You will learn how to affirm all persons of varying gender identities and sexual orientation, and identify opportunities for social, legal and political support for those who are LGBTQA+.
Can be taken individually or as part of the LGBTQA+ Studies Certificate Program.
