Through the generosity and partnership of the Goidel Law Group and additional anonymous funders, the Adelphi School of Social Work offers an annual fellowship in gerontological social work for students who are interested in working with older adults and their families, receiving specialized education and training in geriatrics and gerontology, distinguishing themselves in the field of social work, and gaining a greater return on their academic investment.
The Goidel Gerontological Social Work Fellowship provides one year of specialized experiential training in practicum settings serving older adults, targeted coursework, and monthly colloquia to explore social work careers in aging. The fellowship is available to advanced-year MSW students. A student stipend of $2,000 – $10,000 is provided for the successful completion of the one-year fellowship.
