This year, Adelphi ranks No. 99 out of 250 institutions nationwide on the list of Newsweek’s America’s Top Online Colleges for 2026. This recognition highlights Adelphi’s commitment to providing exceptional online education, distinguishing it as the only private university on Long Island included on this list.

The ranking reflects Adelphi’s the strength of its flexible, personalized online learning experiences that cater to the evolving needs of today’s students. With more than 40 fully online undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business, Ruth S. Ammon School of Education and Health Sciences, College of Nursing and Public Health and College of Arts and Sciences, the University offers an array of options for learners seeking adaptability and relevance in their education. Adelphi also offers programs that are personal, professional and powerful as students seek to complete undergraduate degrees in the College of Professional and Continuing Studies (CPCS) or advance their careers with a graduate degree or postgraduate certificate in a variety of disciplines.

The Newsweek ranking is based on an online survey of more than 10,000 people who have utilized online learning services for degree attainment or skill enhancement. Participants evaluated their experiences based on organization, support, price, reputation, success and practical relevance.

All of Adelphi’s online programs are designed to be current and industry-relevant, taught by active professionals who are experts in their fields and deeply invested in student success. These programs, which also provide opportunities for career development, range from 100 percent online to blended options requiring minimal on-campus presence.

For its online undergraduate students, Adelphi’s CPCS also provides professional advisers, credit for prior learning and seven-and-a-half-week courses designed to accelerate degree completion.
