Adelphi art graduates prove that a creative career is not only viable, but that the possibilities are limitless.

A new “collective of perspectives” has been tapped to guide College of Arts and Sciences strategy and ensure that future generations of graduates are equipped to lead in an unpredictable world.

As a child, Frida Molina ’23 taught herself to dance. After earning her BFA in Dance at Adelphi, she has gone on to become a dancer with some of pop’s biggest stars.

"People don’t get to see enough art—and art is more than what you see in museums and galleries. ... It gives people joy. As an artist, I see making public art as an opportunity to give something back."

Adelphi alumna credits online MS in Emergency Management with equipping her to lead through pandemics, security crises and daily operational challenges.

Seven-year-old Briar drew a picture of her dad, Ryan Wosleger, due to receive his MA in 2026, for Father’s Day in June. It depicts a bespectacled Ryan wearing a “Best Dad” T-shirt, a red superhero cape flowing behind him. The image is spot on. After all, the second-grader was her artist dad’s first student.

Samuel Abrams ’23 and Daniel Hickey ’20 are using their studio art and video game design degrees from Adelphi in roles at Universal Studios and High Moon Studios.

Sarah Solarz ’15, JD, is a staff attorney at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. A graduate of Adelphi and Pace Law, she’s also a mentor, volunteer and mom. Sarah credits Adelphi for inspiring her path in environmental law and her commitment to public service.

Monika Mohacsi ’15 is a project manager and electrical technical lead at JB&B. A dual-degree alumna of Adelphi and Columbia, she’s also a mentor and advocate for women in engineering. Monika served as a young alumni trustee on the Adelphi University Board of Trustees for four years.

Ivan Miketic ’17, PhD, is a physical design engineer at Apple. He earned his BS in Physics from Adelphi and a PhD from Stony Brook, where he studied chip-level security. Adelphi’s supportive faculty and hands-on learning helped launch his path into high-performance silicon design.

Rahanna Khan ’17, MS, is a PhD student at NYU studying toxicants and child health. At Adelphi, she majored in biology, performed in music ensembles and found her research path through the Honors College. A dedicated mentor and science communicator, Rahanna believes creativity is key to impactful research and outreach.

Kimberly Carstens ’16, DDS, is a second-generation Panther and owner of Family Dental Care of Massapequa. She chose Adelphi for its dual degree dentistry program and family legacy—and now leads a thriving practice. Her advice to students: follow your goals with clarity, intention and pride in your roots.

Herbert Liberman ’61 has spent a lifetime chasing possibilities and turning bold ideas into successful ventures across education, business, nonprofit and beyond.

An educational experience abroad is an invaluable one, and no one understands that better than Anastasia Dakis ’22. She spent seven days performing optometry services in Senegal, a country in West Africa.

Jack Abramowitz '66, a retired Grumman aerospace engineer, spoke with Chabad Jewish Student Group president Hannah Gold. He explained his commitment to sharing his experiences with Nazi Germany.

Launched in 2023 to promote understanding among Adelphi students, the award-winning program has now expanded to include students and leaders from four other universities.

These Adelphi students have used their degrees to forge different career paths. 

“These scholarships are a way to give back because Adelphi’s given me so much,” said the proud Adelphi alumna.

Lego is more than just plastic building blocks—and an Adelphi alum is one of those behind building the brand.

The cabaret performer and artist is recognized for “weaving history, cultural critique and an ethic of care into performances and artwork animated by wit, whimsy and calls to action.”

Many dance majors go on to perform, but others have used their Bachelor of Fine Arts to create their own companies or schools or go into health professions such as  physical therapy. 

Students in theater, political science, computer science and biochemistry expanded their horizons by working in a Broadway theater or a public relations defense firm, competing in a NASA competition, or collaborating on research at a university in Poland.

Faculty members from the theater and English departments will each lead a trip to the United Kingdom: one for English literature in York and the other for theater in London.
