FAQs: Adelphi Manhattan Center
The Center is easily accessible by public transportation.
- Address and Entrance: The entrance to 529 Fifth Avenue is on 44th Street between Madison and Fifth Ave.
- From Grand Central: You can access it directly from the terminal by taking the 44th Street Elevator.
- Subway and Rail: The Center is a short walk from all major subway lines and the Metro-North and LIRR at Grand Central.
Parking in the area is limited, so we highly recommend using public transportation.

The Manhattan Center is designed primarily for graduate and select professional programs. Students taking classes at the Garden City campus will have professional and experiential learning opportunities at the Manhattan Center, a 30-minute train ride from campus. We like to call it GC squared: Garden City to Grand Central (Station).

To enter the building, you will need to use the mobile access system.
- First, download the Avigilon Alta Open app from your device’s app store (Apple App Store or Google Play).
- Use your Adelphi email address to set up the app.
- You will receive an email titled “Unlock doors at Adelphi University from Avigilon Alta”. Select the link in that email to enable your access.
Once set up, you can use your phone to swipe into the dedicated left turnstile at the main entrance.
You may be prompted to update your Bluetooth settings as it is required to unlock entry points. We also recommend accepting the suggested settings for Location Services and Power Saving.
When you see your Mobile ID badge, you are ready to swipe at the Adelphi turnstile. It’s recommended to bring a physical ID as a backup.
Yes. You will be able to reserve space for events starting in the fall semester of 2026.
