How to Apply to Adelphi
Explore your options to join Adelphi as an international student, whether you’re applying for the first time or returning to continue your studies. Our dedicated staff is here to guide you through every step.
Our International Admissions team can help you choose the pathway that best fits your goals.
- Standard entry: Enroll directly in your degree program if you meet the required academic and English-language qualifications.
- International Accelerator: Get additional academic, professional and English-language support during your first year while you work toward your degree.
- Intensive English Program: Strengthen your English skills while experiencing life in New York through this non-degree program.

After You’re Accepted
Congratulations! Now it’s time to review your offer, track your application, and take the next steps to officially secure your place at Adelphi.
Use the application status portal to track your application, connect with your admissions counselor and view your admission offer.
Submit your deposit by the deadline to:
- Secure your place at Adelphi
- Receive your Adelphi email and eCampus access
- Begin your immigration (I-20/DS-2019) process
- Join accepted student events
After You’ve Deposited
Once you’ve confirmed your enrollment, you’ll gain access to essential systems and begin the process of preparing your immigration documents and student record.
Activate your eCampus account to access Adelphi’s systems and resources. Check your email for your activation link, then set your password and log in.
Use the International Services Portal to submit required documents, request your I-20 or DS-2019 and manage your immigration record.
You’ll need your I-20 or DS-2019 to apply for your student visa, enter the United States and enroll in classes. Request your I-20 or DS-2019 to get started.

After Receiving Your I-20 or DS-2019
With your immigration document in hand, you can move forward with paying the SEVIS fee, scheduling your visa interview, and preparing for your journey to the U.S.
- All students must pay the SEVIS fee before scheduling a visa interview. Pay the SEVIS fee and review the SEVIS fee FAQs for more information.
Once you’re ready to apply for your student visa, schedule an appointment at the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Before your appointment, gather your required documents and review what to expect during your visa interview.

Prepare for Your U.S. Arrival
Learn what to expect when traveling to the United States, including when you can arrive and how to navigate the entry process smoothly.

Pre-Arrival Checklist
Finalize your pre-arrival checklist by registering for classes, submitting health forms, securing housing, and preparing your finances so you’re ready for a successful start.
To register for classes, start by connecting with your academic advisor. Undergraduate students can contact Academic Services and Retention, while graduate students should contact their program director.

You must complete your health and immunization forms before you arrive on campus.

You’re automatically enrolled in the university health insurance plan unless you receive an approved waiver.

F-1 Admission Period
F-1 students are admitted to the United States for a fixed period of admission (Admit Until Date or AUD) rather than under the previous “Duration of Status” (D/S) admission framework. Your authorized admission period is tied to the program end date listed on your Form I-20 and may not exceed the applicable maximum admission period. If you require additional time to complete your program, you may need to obtain USCIS approval through a formal Extension of Stay (EOS) process or, where permitted, depart the United States and seek reentry with a valid F-1 visa and updated Form I-20.
