Hanna Kim, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Anthropology, has returned from a year away, studying and educating others about the Hindu community and religious group she has been researching for decades. Now she’s ready to complete a book on her work—and fuel her students’ passion for scholarship.

A degree in philosophy gave these alumni the skills to be thought leaders in a variety of careers ranging from humanitarian work to justice protection to elder law.

Chad Williams, MSW ’23, a Queens, New York, native and dedicated social work PhD student, works for the New York City Administration for Children’s Services while completing his doctorate. He recently authored a children’s book with his daughter that encourages young girls to feel empowered and confident. Williams’ goal: to continue to find ways to tie social work to the arts.

Adelphi Alumni Relations is getting ready to hit the road to host events and reconnect with alumni, parents and friends. With the support of President Riordan, we will host Presidential Receptions in cities around the country.

When Wendy Goidel, JD, saw her clients needed more than legal expertise, she created a unique program that helps older adults and their families while providing valuable experience in gerontological social work to graduate students.

In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Bridges to Adelphi program and the Adelphi University Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging co-hosted an event focusing on self-advocacy for individuals on the autism spectrum.
