  1. Secure on-campus housing for the upcoming year:
    • A nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $300 is required to secure on-campus housing.
    • Your housing deposit can be paid online at the same time as your $300 admissions deposit ($600 total). Choose “My Housing Deposit” in the menu.
    • To pay in person, visit the One-Stop Student Services Center on the lower level of Levermore Hall.
  2. Submit a housing application:
    • Use the Housing Self-Service portal on eCampus to complete a housing application, including any preferences for roommates, buildings, room types, and/or special housing communities.
    • Our special housing communities may have additional selection processes beyond your initial housing application
  3. Select a roommate: (optional)
    • When filling out the roommate survey, make sure fellow residents can find your profile as a potential roommate. Set your “Web Screen Name” as your preferred name and mark the box “Show in search results.”
    • Use the “Room/Roommate Preferences” section to identify a preferred roommate. When all roommates have agreed, the system will note a “Match.” Once matched, any member of the roommate group may select a room.
    • If you do not approve the match, the group will not be created and you will not select a room together.
    • You will not be able to choose for your roommate an ineligible student, or any student who has not submitted an application or housing deposit.
    • Note: This step is optional. You may select a room without a specific roommate selected.
  4. Select a room:
    • You will be notified via your Adelphi student email about participating in online room selection, if applicable. You will use the online Housing Self-Service portal to find your time slot for room selection.
    • If you have an assigned roommate and their timeslot is earlier, they can select the room for the group.
  5. Late applications: We assign applications received after the deadline based on available space.

Housing Application FAQs

If you are interested in living on campus, you will need to pay a $300 non-refundable, non-transferable housing deposit and complete a housing application. You must also be registered for classes and be fully compliant with University Immunization Requirements.

See our seven Residence Halls on Adelphi’s Garden City campus and our room types. You can even take a virtual tour!

While we never guarantee housing, we encourage you to apply! We prioritize students who apply before the deadline and then assign applications received after the deadline based on available space.

We encourage you to apply anyway! If you miss the priority deadlines, we will assign your room based on available space.

Adelphi offers four residential communities for specific interests: First-Year Living-Learning; Honors Residential; Gender Inclusive; and Greek Life and Social Fellowship. You can indicate your preference on your housing application. Learn more about our residential communities.

See our housing costs for the current academic year. These are subject to change.

Housing is available for Adelphi University students who are taking summer classes, working in University-approved internships, working on campus, or are international students who cannot travel home or make other arrangements. Read more about applying for summer on-campus housing.

Intersession housing is provided to Adelphi University students who have an academic or athletic requirement, are working for the University as essential personnel, or are international students who cannot travel home or make other arrangements. Read more about applying for intersession housing.

In addition to the opportunities and atmosphere that our on-campus living offers, Adelphi’s resident students have access to smart card-operated laundry services, certain television and streaming services, wifi and internet, and Google Voice for telephone services and voicemail through their Adelphi account.

Unfortunately, not every room in the residence halls is equipped with air conditioning (AC). Earle Hall has AC on the first and fourth floors. Waldo, Chapman and Linen Halls have AC on their fourth floors only. Eddy and Residence Halls A and B have AC in every room. Rooms with AC cost a little more than rooms without it. View Housing Costs for pricing.

We hope to welcome you to residential life at Adelphi! If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact any member of our team. You are also welcome to reach out to our main office through housing@adelphi.edu

Don’t have a roommate? Don’t worry! You can apply for housing and skip this optional step. We will send your room selection timeslot to your Adelphi student email and, during room selection, you will be able to select any space on campus that is still available that may already have a roommate assigned to it. You will find the name and email address of your roommate in the online Housing Self-Service portal on eCampus, and we encourage you to be in touch in advance to get to know them and to coordinate who is bringing what.

Students who have not selected a space will be assigned by the Residential Life and Housing staff.

Adelphi’s Student Access Office makes reasonable accommodations on a case-by-case basis for people with disabilities or other individualized needs.

If you already have an approved accommodation from our Student Access Office, complete all the housing application steps, but DO NOT select a room; one will be assigned to you based on your accommodation.

If our Student Access Office is still reviewing your accommodation, you should complete all the housing application steps INCLUDING room selection. If your accommodation is approved, we will remove you from your selection and place you in the appropriate space. If your accommodation is denied but you have not selected a space, we cannot guarantee a space will be available that matches your preferences.

If you are looking for accommodation for a particular room type or amenity due to a need, please contact the Student Access Office.

Email your decision to our Residential Life and Housing staff at housing@adelphi.edu and complete all application steps, including room selection.

Single-room spaces are not available as part of the room selection process, and students with accommodations are not automatically qualified for single-room spaces.

If you require a single space, there are two processes available to you:

  1. Submit your need to Adelphi’s Student Access Office, which makes reasonable accommodations on a case-by-case basis for people with disabilities or other individualized needs. If your accommodation is approved, the Office of Residential Life and Housing will be notified and will place you accordingly.
  2. Add yourself to our single-room waitlist in the Housing Self-Service portal on eCampus. Choose “Waiting Lists” from the menu and follow the steps. Rooms are assigned based on availability and course credits.
