We will work with you to ensure you receive the most aid and scholarship consideration possible.

Scholarships and grants are types of aid that do not have to be repaid. They may take the form of Adelphi University scholarships or need-based grants, federal or state grants, or outside scholarships. Application deadlines may apply to certain types of aid.

Adelphi scholarships are renewable each year for students who meet certain performance criteria. Adelphi need based grants are renewable for students who meet the FAFSA® filing priority deadline of March 1 each year and who continue to demonstrate financial need.

Adelphi University Awards

Eligible students are automatically considered for most Adelphi scholarships upon acceptance. Be sure to refer to the specific terms and conditions for each award.

Our grants are awarded to students on the basis of financial need as determined by filing the FAFSA® and other defined criteria. Except where noted, no additional application is required.

Grants and Stipends

You must complete the FAFSA® in order to be considered for federal and state grants. For New York State scholarships and grants, residents must take additional application steps.

Health Resources and Services Administration’s $1.92 million grant will help train Adelphi students IDEATE Fellowship in Behavioral Healthcare to serve children and adolescents in under-resourced communities.

Grant will start with 30 master’s degree students—15 from the College of Nursing and Health and 15 from the School of Social Work.

Each student will be granted a $12,500 stipend per year.

NYC Department of Education’s six-year grant—$1.5 million a year—will prepare 150 teaching fellows per year for New York City public schools at Adelphi’s NYC Center. Programs include teaching of English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) and special education (including autism).

Find Scholarship Opportunities Beyond Adelphi

In addition to scholarships and grants offered by Adelphi, New York State, and the federal government, you may be eligible for funding from private organizations, employers, unions, and community groups. These external scholarships can provide valuable financial support, but finding them requires research and persistence.

Adelphi’s Office of Prestigious Awards and Fellowships also offers expert guidance on identifying opportunities and preparing competitive applications. Advisors can provide you with feedback on statements, applications, and recommendation requests to help maximize your chances of success. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment for personalized support.

Where to Look for External Scholarships

Consider exploring opportunities through:

  • Employers, unions, and professional organizations
  • Community and special interest groups
  • High school counselors, public libraries, and local Chambers of Commerce
