Address and Phone Number Changes for F-1 and J-1 Students
To remain in compliance with federal regulations, F-1 and J-1 international students are required to report any U.S. address or phone number changes within specific timeframes.
Address Notification Requirement
Federal regulations require all international students and exchange visitors in F-1 or J-1 status to report their U.S. physical address and phone number to their Designated School Official (DSO) while studying or participating in OPT.
Not reporting your address within 10 days of a change is a violation of status and must be updated in SEVIS.
