Adelphi University is pleased to announce the launch of its Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, an advanced degree program tailored to busy working professionals.
Companies, organizations and governments around the world seek professionals who know how to harness the power of AI and drive innovation. Experts in Adelphi’s College of Arts and Sciences developed the MS in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to provide students with the advanced skills, knowledge and experience needed to take on key roles in shaping the future of technology. A forward-thinking BS in Artificial Intelligence was introduced at Adelphi in 2024.
This new STEM-designated advanced degree program offers a combination of online and in-person courses at the University’s Garden City campus. In-person options are also planned for Adelphi’s new Manhattan Center in Fall 2026.
“Students enrolled in Adelphi’s MS in AI and Machine Learning program will learn to unite the power of human creativity and scientific efficiency, creating technology that ushers in a better world,” said Associate Professor Kees Leune, PhD, Adelphi’s information security officer and chair of the mathematics and computer science department in the College of Arts and Sciences. “Because AI lies at the intersection of multiple in-demand fields, our graduates will be ideally positioned to land any job in the tech sector.”
Adelphi’s MS in AI and Machine Learning incorporates a multidisciplinary, market-responsive curriculum that focuses on mathematics, statistics and computer science. The program helps maximize the value of students’ skill sets with an engineering approach that teaches them to develop, assess and optimize algorithms that effectively mimic human thinking.
An experiential learning component helps fuel each student’s professional success. Faculty teach with case studies drawn from authentic scenarios, helping students understand the real-world impact of the technology they’re studying and ensuring they’ll be prepared to build systems that are ethical, responsible and beneficial for all people.
To be admitted to this program, students must have completed a relevant undergraduate degree, such as computer science, mathematics, AI or applied mathematics, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher without the required background are also invited to apply for the Fall 2025 semester.
