Apply for Housing at Adelphi
Make the most of your college experience by living on campus.
Below are all the important dates and steps for becoming an Adelphi Resident Student. Whether you’re a new undergrad, current student, graduate, transfer, international, or Nassau Community College student, we have a home away from home for you!
Incoming First-Year Student Housing Timeline
- You must complete the admissions process.
- Your eCampus login is required to access the housing application.
- A $300 nonrefundable, nontransferable housing deposit is required.
Housing deposits may take up to 24 hours to process. You cannot complete your housing application until your deposit has processed.
- April 1: Housing application becomes available.
- May 1: Priority deadline for $300 housing deposit to hold your on-campus residence for fall.
- June 8 at 11:59 pm: Priority deadline to complete your housing application.
- June 15: Housing assignments are finalized and confirmed; you will be notified.
- August 7: Room change process freezes to allow staff to focus on training and occupancy processes.
- August 20: New students move in starting at 10:00 am (staggered by floors).
- Secure on-campus housing for the upcoming year:
- A nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $300 is required to secure on-campus housing.
- Your housing deposit can be paid online at the same time as your $300 admissions deposit ($600 total). Choose “My Housing Deposit” in the menu.
- Submit a housing application:
- Use the Housing Self-Service portal on eCampus to complete a housing application, including any preferences for roommates, buildings, room types, and/or special housing communities.
- Our special housing communities may have additional selection processes beyond your initial housing application.
- Select a roommate: (optional)
- When filling out the roommate survey, make sure fellow residents can find your profile as a potential roommate. Set your “Web Screen Name” as your preferred name and mark the box “Show in search results.”
- Use the “Room/Roommate Preferences” section to identify a preferred roommate. When all roommates have agreed, the system will note a “Match.” Once matched, any member of the roommate group may select a room.
- If you do not approve the match, the group will not be created and you will not select a room together.
- You will not be able to choose for your roommate an ineligible student, or any student who has not submitted an application or housing deposit.
- Note: This step is optional. You may select a room without a specific roommate selected.
- Select a room:
- You will be notified via your Adelphi student email about participating in online room selection, if applicable. You will use the online Housing Self-Service portal to find your time slot for room selection.
- If you have an assigned roommate and their timeslot is earlier, they can select the room for the group.
- Late applications: We assign applications received after the deadline based on available space.
- Room changes: All room assignments are final. To request a change, you must email housing@adelphi.edu after July 1.
Returning Students
In order to apply for housing, you must be both registered and deposited prior to the following dates:
- March 9: Open planning begins for Summer and Fall 2026
- April 1: First day of graduate registration for Fall 2026
- April 3: First day of undergraduate registration for Fall 2026
Housing deposits may take up to 24 hours to process. You will not be able to complete your housing application until after it is processed.
- April 13 at 11:59 pm: Priority deadline to register for classes and submit your $300 nonrefundable housing deposit.
- April 14 at 11:59 pm: Priority deadline to submit your housing application and form a roommate group (if selecting together).
Students without a roommate group should still complete their housing application by this deadline to qualify for room selection.
- April 13 at 11:59 pm: Priority deadline to register for classes and submit a housing deposit.
- April 14 at 11:59 pm: Priority deadline to submit a housing application and form a roommate group to be eligible for room selection (students without a roommate group should still complete their housing application by the priority deadline).
- April 15: Notification to participate in room selection on April 16 with a confirmed roommate group (via Adelphi student email).
- April 16: Room selection opens for students with confirmed roommate groups. Additionally, a notification will be sent to participate in room selection on April 17 without a roommate group (via Adelphi student email).
- April 17: Room selection opens for students without confirmed roommate groups.
- April 18: Applications received after this date will be manually assigned based on availability and application date.
- April 20: Housing assignments are confirmed; you will be notified.
- July 1: Standard room selection period concludes. Any changes after this date will be reviewed by the Office of Residential Life and Housing.
- August 7: Room change process freezes to allow staff to focus on training and housing occupancy processes.
- August 22: Returning students move in starting at 10:00 am.
- Register for fall courses: Course registrations are made online through CLASS.
- Secure on-campus housing for the upcoming year:
- A nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $300 is required to secure on-campus housing. After registering for your classes, you can pay your housing deposit in CLASS by choosing “My Housing Deposit” in the menu.
- Submit a housing application:
- Use the Housing Self-Service portal on eCampus to complete a housing application, including any preferences for roommates, buildings, room types, and/or special housing communities.
- Our special housing communities may have additional selection processes beyond your housing application.

Graduate and Transfer Students
Graduate and transfer students follow the Returning Student process and deadlines above.
AUI Students
Adelphi University International (AUI) students should contact their Enrollment Services Advisor directly for housing questions.
NCC Students
Nassau Community College (NCC) students should contact the Dean of Students at Nassau Community College at deanofstudents@ncc.edu directly to start the application process. We’ll be in touch after that!
Roommate Group vs. Individual Selection
- Roommate Group: Two or more students who officially link in the housing portal to select a room as a unit.
- Individual Selection: You select a room on your own.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Housing Application
To live on campus, you must:
- Pay a $300 non-refundable, non-transferable housing deposit
- Complete a housing application
- Be registered for classes
- Be compliant with University Immunization Requirements
Housing is not guaranteed. Students who apply before the priority deadline receive priority consideration.
Adelphi offers seven residence halls on the Garden City campus, with a variety of room types. Virtual tours and room details are available.
Housing is not guaranteed. Students who apply before the priority deadline are given priority consideration. Applications received after the deadline are assigned based on available space.
You should still apply. Late applications are assigned based on available space.
If you miss your room selection timeslot, Residential Life and Housing staff will assign you a space.
Adelphi offers several residential communities for specific interests. You may indicate your interest within your housing application. Some communities may have additional selection processes.
Housing rates are published for each academic year and are subject to change. Room pricing varies by building and room type.
Summer housing is available for students who are:
- Taking summer classes
- Working in a University-approved internship
- Employed on campus
- International students unable to travel home
Intersession housing is available for students who:
- Have an academic or athletic requirement
- Are essential University employees
- Are international students unable to travel home
In addition to the opportunities and atmosphere that our on-campus living offers, Adelphi’s resident students have access to smart card-operated laundry services, certain television and streaming services, Wi-Fi and internet, and Google Voice for telephone services and voicemail through their Adelphi account.
Not all rooms have air conditioning.
Earle Hall has AC on the first and fourth floors. Waldo, Chapman, and Linen Halls have AC on their fourth floors only. Eddy and Residence Halls A and B have AC in every room. Rooms with AC cost a little more than rooms without it.

Housing accommodations are determined by the Student Access Office (SAO).
- If your accommodation is approved, complete the housing application, but do not select a room. One will be assigned to you.
- If your accommodation request is under review, complete all steps, including room selection. If approved, you will be reassigned.
- If denied and you did not select a space, a preferred space cannot be guaranteed.

Single rooms are not part of the standard room selection. To request a single room:
- Submit documentation to the Student Access Office for review.
- Or join the single-room waitlist in Housing Self-Service under “Waiting Lists.”
Assignments are based on availability and course credits.
