[Adelphi has] fostered an environment where I’m able to take blended courses. I can actually take classes online, from my living room, where I can raise my daughter at the same time.
Whether you’re looking to enroll in college for the first time, return to school to complete your bachelor’s degree or take your career to the next level with a graduate degree, you’ll find an option that meets your goals at Adelphi University, recognized by Colleges of Distinction for helping veterans overcome obstacles and achieve success.
In addition, Adelphi is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium, a group of colleges and universities dedicated to helping servicemembers and their families earn college degrees. We’re also a member of the Concurrent Admissions Program (ConAP), which allows soon-to-enlist or currently enlisted military personnel to enroll in and complete college courses while they continue their service commitments.
Aside from traditional on-campus programs, our College of Professional and Continuing Studies offers dozens of graduate and undergraduate degree programs designed for working adults. You can attend classes on campus in the evenings or on weekends, take 100 percent online courses from anywhere you have an internet connection or participate in blended classes, which give you an experience in both learning environments.
Our admissions, financial aid and registrar staff members have expertise in military education benefits offered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We can also help you determine if any past college education or any of your military training or service could be transferred into Adelphi and used to fulfill program requirements.
After more than 20 years of service, James Bavaro is ready for his next chapter, handling crises closer to home.
Sorting through the many types of veteran education benefits offered by the VA, determining which ones you are eligible for and what they can be used for might seem overwhelming. We’re here to make the process easier. We’ll thoroughly explain your options and work to make the financial aid process easier to understand.
Adelphi is a Yellow Ribbon School, which means eligible veteran and military students might have access to additional funds that could cover tuition, room and board, study abroad and other costs associated with an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
[The Yellow Ribbon Program] was able to help me match a tuition rate that the Post-9/11 GI Bill® wasn’t able to cover on its own.
Adelphi’s Veterans Resource Center, along with campus community partners, offers career development services, information on local military agencies and access to VA and related resources. The center also hosts a range of social and educational events throughout the year, including bimonthly visits from a liaison at the Mental Health Association of Nassau County’s Veterans Health Alliance of Long Island.
The people at Adelphi have a way of letting you know that they want you to be the best…They have high standards; you have to do well in your classes in order to graduate. They tell you what is required, and then they help you do it. The mentors and advisers know you, and they go out of their way to help you—far beyond what you’d expect.
Adelphi University's unwavering commitment to veterans shines through a revamped Veterans Lounge and a special Veterans Day ceremony.
