Our students have access to one-on-one advising, free tutoring, and accessibility support to stay on track and thrive at Adelphi.

Advising and Academic Support

Students have several great resources for academic support at Adelphi:

Log into to eCampus and select CLASS. Your academic adviser’s name, office location, telephone number and email address is listed under “My Adviser.”

Yes, students may request to change their academic adviser:

  • If you have a declared major, contact your department.
  • If you are undeclared, contact the Office of Academic Services and Retention at 516.877.3150 or oasr@adelphi.edu.

You should take the following steps:

  1. Speak to the professor in the class.
  2. Seek out academic coaching in our Center for Academic Support and Enrichment (CASE).
  3. Follow up with your adviser.

The Office of Academic Services and Retention is also available to answer your questions or concerns. You can call 516.877.3150 or email oasr@adelphi.edu, and we will gladly assist you.

Course Registration

Students can add a course to their schedule until the end of the second week of classes. Please see the Academic Calendar for the deadline.

Courses can be added online via CLASS or by submitting a schedule form to the One Stop Student Services Center.

Students can drop a course until the end of the second week of classes. Please see the Academic Calendar for the deadline.

Please be aware that academic deadlines (i.e. the last day to drop a class without receiving a “W”) and refund deadlines (i.e. the last to drop a class and receive a full tuition refund) are not the same. Dropping a course(s) can impact your tuition and fee charges and financial aid eligibility. You may be partially or fully liable for tuition and fees associated with the course(s). It can be helpful to connect with the One-Stop Student Services Center before dropping a course to learn how your enrollment affects your billing and awards.

Courses can be dropped online (within the drop date deadline), or students can submit a schedule form to the One-Stop Student Services Center.

Students can make changes to their registration within the deadlines of the academic calendar.

Declaring or Changing a Major

Many students start their college experience without a declared major. However, students must choose a major by the time they complete 60 credits.

To help you decide, you can contact the Office of Academic Services and Retention at oasr@adelphi.edu to schedule an appointment with your academic adviser. You can also contact the Center for Career and Professional Development to discuss your personal interests and possible professional pathways.

Students must complete a change of major form and submit it to the One-Stop Student Services Center. The major department must also sign off.

Changing majors usually doesn’t delay graduation if done within the first two years. We encourage students to speak with an advisor before making changes.

All undergraduate students must choose a major when they have completed 60 credits.
