Why Minor in Acting?

Build a rich foundation through courses in acting, theater history, directing and more, then take your education to the next level by acting or directing in departmental productions. You’ll graduate ready to excel as a primary or secondary school teacher, theater educator or drama therapist, or in jobs requiring excellent presentational skills such as law, business or sales.

At Adelphi, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take what you’ve learned in the classroom and apply it to real-world scenarios. Students in the acting minor gain extensive exposure to the design, production and business sides of theater alongside an ensemble of dedicated future professionals. You’ll collaborate with theater majors on every aspect of our productions at the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (recently named one of the 35 best university performing arts centers in the country), from creating costumes and sets to helping run shows backstage.

Consult your adviser as soon as possible to discuss the minor’s requirements. When you’re ready to declare, complete the Change of Major/Minor form on the Registrar website.
