Adelphi University celebrates the generous members of the Million Dollar Roundtable and unveils a recognition wall in their honor.

Adelphi University celebrated the 26 members of its Million Dollar Roundtable in style at the University’s 24th annual President’s Gala on September 21. The evening kicked off at an on-campus unveiling of the Million Dollar Roundtable recognition wall. Located in the lobby of the Nexus Building, the two-story wall honors those who have given or committed $1 million or more to the University’s mission.

Inspiring Our Community

At the dedication, Adelphi President Christine M. Riordan noted the significance of its placement: “This is a central hub for so many students, faculty and staff as they’re going to class, their office or just passing through,” she noted. “People are going to stop, admire and learn about these incredible supporters of Adelphi on this wall. And it will inspire them as they think about their own journey and experience here.”

After the reception, the festivities and recognition of these visionary benefactors continued during the President’s Gala at The Garden City Hotel, where members of the Million Dollar Roundtable in attendance received heartfelt thanks offered in speeches by members of University leadership and a moving video sharing their inspiring stories and the impact of their donations.

Honoring Our Donors

“The Million Dollar Roundtable is the pinnacle of our giving societies, not simply because of the funds these philanthropists have contributed, but because of the immense and lasting impact they have created,” said Thomas Kline, EdD, vice president of University advancement and external relations. “From expanding access for aspiring teachers, health care professionals and business leaders, to creating opportunities for global study abroad programs and women’s leadership initiatives, to advancing the arts—these benefactors have helped strengthen the University in myriad ways.”

Million Dollar Roundtable members were recognized individually at the Gala, where the University also launched its most ambitious fundraising campaign to date—The Momentum Campaign: Extraordinary Impact.
