Welcome to Moodle 4.1!

Our Learning Management System has been upgraded from Moodle 3.9 to Moodle 4.1. You can pick back up where you left off as all information was brought over to Moodle 4.1.

Take a look at this short video highlighting some of the changes to expect in moodle 4.1

What do I need to do after the upgrade?

No action is required for students. For faculty and staff who host courses in Moodle, we recommend that you check your content to ensure that everything works as expected. While the project team completed extensive testing, there may be custom code or plugins used by your courses that can potentially result in an incompatibility.

If you encounter any errors, or find something that does not work or render correctly, please take a screenshot and submit the details using this link. This bug report form will remain available until September 31st 2024. After this date you can contact the IT helpdesk to create a work ticket.

For general hands on help with Moodle, please contact the FCPE.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to commonly asked questions we have captured so far.

Our courses may look a little different in the upgraded environment as Moodle 4.1 introduces a new look and feel. However, your course navigation will largely be the same, and all of your course content and data will be preserved. User tours will walk you through the new features in your course.

No. Because our current platform is being upgraded, not migrated, the use of the previous version of Moodle will not be available after the transition.

All existing courses from between January 2021 and the time of our transition will be updated in the new version of Moodle. Courses older than January 2021, will be archived; these can be restored if requested.

FCPE will be hosting a set of Workshops and information sessions for instructors prior to the upgrade to introduce the new environment, highlight the new features, and take any questions. Instructor support resources will also be provided for the more common actions instructors perform within courses.

4.1 is the Long Term Service (LTS) version of Moodle. While the latest version of Moodle might offer the newest features and functionality, migrating to the LTS generally provides a more reliable, secure, and supported experience for both users and administrators. It will receive bug fixes and security fixes for significantly longer than other versions. As a policy Adelphi always uses the LTS versions of software.
