There are so many ways to become a strong leader. Adelphi students are encouraged to apply for one of many open positions on campus.

Open Positions on Campus

The mentors to the first-year students, who help with their transition to Adelphi. Peer Assistant Leaders communicate frequently with first-year students, lead their mentees during Orientation Weekend, provide programming after Orientation Weekend, and lend support to first-year students and the Center for Student and Community Engagement throughout the year.

Payment for the PAL position is $300 after the Orientation Weekend, $500 at the end of the fall semester, and $500 at the end of the spring semester; total stipend of $1300.

Student leaders who support Peer Assistant Leaders throughout Orientation Weekend. OWCs assist in taking attendance, supervising the group when neede d, assisting with icebreaker activities, and helping with events during Orientation Weekend.

This position ends after Orientation Weekend has finished. Payment for the OWC position is $375 after Orientation Weekend.

The leaders who help our first-year students through 3 days of volunteer work. First Year Community Action Program Leaders lead icebreaker activities and ensure that all students are safe and on task during volunteer projects.

Payment for the FCAP Leader position is $250 at the end of the summer.

Provides first-year commuter students with a mentor and resource to all things Adelphi. Commuter Assistants keep in contact with their students throughout the first year, helping them navigate and get involved on campus.

Payment for the CA position is $500 at the end of the fall semester, and $500 at the end of the spring semester.

These leaders help out-of-state/upstate NY resident students get acquainted with NYC and Long Island. Explore NY is a pre-orientation program and requires the leaders to bring the participants around the city for various activities.

Payment for the Explore NY position will be announced shortly, and will be a one-time payment.
