Student Government Association
Adelphi University's Student Government Association (SGA) is an elected, representative body comprised of full-time undergraduate students that serves as a liaison between Adelphi students and the University’s faculty, administration, and Board of Trustees.
SGA has two branches: the Senate and Executive Cabinet. In addition to serving as the primary representative for the interest of the undergraduate student body, SGA plans and executes multiple programs and initiatives throughout the academic year, and oversees Adelphi’s student organizations and their finances.
SGA is involved in addressing student concerns and implementing new ideas to better student life at Adelphi. Currently, SGA has five committees: Allocations. Academic Affairs, Promotions, Student Life and an Ad Hoc committee that changes each year, based on the student climate. Past examples of this committee have included a Green (sustainability) committee, spirit & pride committee, and diversity and inclusion committee. All of these committees work to advance the needs and interests of the student body, as well as support and assist clubs in their endeavors.
SGA meets every Tuesday at 6pm when classes are in session and meetings are open to all undergraduate students. Please visit MyAULife for meeting locations and more information.
The members of the Executive Cabinet of the Student Government Association (SGA) are responsible for oversight of some of the most crucial components of SGA’s mission. In conjunction with the Student Senate, the members of the Executive Cabinet plan and implement major initiatives and ensure that our duty to support the student body is being properly fulfilled.
