Communications Department

Where creativity meets technology—and where your voice becomes your career.

Create content, tell stories and experiment with emerging media while building a career in today’s digital world through our communications programs.

The Communications degree programs at Adelphi are hands-on, tech-forward, and built for today’s digital media landscape. You’ll learn by doing—working across areas like journalism, filmmaking, digital storytelling and content creation, using the same platforms and technologies shaping modern media, including AI, XR, drones, blockchain, and gaming and interactive technologies.

We invest in state-of-the-art facilities, including a green screen studio and a dedicated podcasting space, and offer robust coursework in emerging areas such as blockchain, AI and extended reality. The curriculum evolves as quickly as the media industry itself, and students can tailor their studies through four focused concentrations:

  1. Emerging Media and Digital Innovation: explore AI, XR, drones, gaming and other technologies shaping the future of media.
  2. Journalism and Public Relations: develop storytelling skills that inform, persuade and create meaningful impact across news outlets, brands and organizations.
  3. Digital Video Production and Cinema Studies: build strong filmmaking, directing and content creation skills while developing reels and portfolios that showcase your creative voice.
  4. Media Studies: examine media, culture and technology, preparing yourself for advanced academic study or research-driven careers.

Adelphi’s Communications Department opened doors for me—from film sets with professors to freelance gigs with peers—igniting my passion for digital storytelling and driving my growth far beyond the classroom.”
