Adelphi University knows the importance of celebrating the momentous occasions in your academic journey, from its beginning at Matriculation to its conclusion at Commencement and Doctoral Hooding.
Matriculation
At these ceremonies, our welcoming community, strong academic mission and passionate commitment to student success are on full display. It is our privilege to honor your hard work and dedication to advancing your education.
The president and executive leaders, along with representatives from the Adelphi University Board of Trustees and members of our faculty and alumni, will come together to cheer our newest class of Panthers and wish them success.
Our Matriculation Ceremony takes place annually during Orientation Weekend.
Commencement and Doctoral Hooding
Commencement is our largest celebration, honoring the achievements of bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates as they complete their academic journeys.
For doctoral candidates who have fulfilled all requirements, the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony is a special recognition. In this meaningful tradition, scholars are hooded by an Adelphi faculty mentor, symbolizing their attainment of the highest academic degree.
Both ceremonies take place each May, marking a proud milestone for our graduates.
