Adelphi’s Doctoral Hooding Ceremony for doctoral candidates will be held Sunday, May 22 at 1:00 p.m. in the Concert Hall of Adelphi’s Performing Arts Center.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have elevated the COVID-19 community transmission level to HIGH in our area, and masks are now required in all indoor spaces on Adelphi’s campus through Monday, June 6. Accordingly, masks will be required for all attending Adelphi’s 2022 Doctoral Hooding ceremony. Students and faculty members who are vaccinated and have received a booster will be permitted to remove their masks as they cross the stage.

Candidates should check in at 12:00 noon wearing their academic attire (wear your gown, tam and tassel, but carry the hood). Please arrive on time.

Each doctoral candidate may bring up to seven (7) guests to Doctoral Hooding. Guests should arrive by 12:30 pm; seating is first-come, first-served.

Hooding candidates do not need to sign up through MarchingOrder.

The ordering deadline to ensure on-time delivery has passed.

Adelphi’s Doctoral Hooding Ceremony will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in person.

Accessible seating is available, and an American Sign Language interpreter will be present at the ceremony. Please contact the Student Access Office at with any questions.
