Dear Adelphi Community,

Adelphi University’s Garden City Campus and Hauppauge, Brooklyn (Livingston and Madison) and Hudson Valley Centers will remain closed on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 due to the impacts of winter weather and unsafe travel conditions.

Snow day protocols require that all University facilities and operations in affected locations be closed and programs canceled. This includes all virtual and in-person classes, scheduled meetings and most services. Students, faculty and most staff will have time off when a snow day is declared by the University. Faculty will reschedule missed classes and may choose to use the make-up days at the end of the semester to do so.

On-campus vehicles: Vehicles on the Garden City campus must remain in one of our underground garages (Nexus or Motamed Field) to help support our snow removal operations.

Shuttle Service: All shuttle operations will remain suspended until safe travel conditions are restored.

Essential staff: Public Safety and Facilities will assist with snow removal, maintenance and safety on the Garden City campus.

Snow closure decisions: The safety of the Adelphi community is our highest priority, and we recognize the importance of notifying our community about a closure, delay or early closing as soon as possible. The University closely monitors weather forecasts and works with local and state emergency services and in concert with other Long Island schools and universities to make these decisions. Confirm your contact information and preferences to receive emergency and weather-related delay/closure messages.

Where to eat: Check online for dining service hours for the week of February 23 which may change due to weather and staff availability.

We will share additional updates as needed, as conditions evolve.
