Dear Adelphi Community,
As of today, December 31, 2025, Blodgett Hall is temporarily closed pending the new Fire Life Safety inspection. Public Safety has appropriate measures in place during this period, including regular fire watch patrols.
The system’s formal inspection is scheduled for January 2, 2026, and we will share an update with the community following that inspection.
In accordance with Section F901.7 of the New York State Fire Code, this Fire Watch involves implementation of a temporary fire protection measure in situations where fire safety systems are impaired, inoperable, or undergoing maintenance. This entails assigning trained personnel to monitor the affected areas continuously to watch for signs of fire and take any necessary action to ensure the safety of the occupants and property.
