On Monday, September 29 at 7:00pm, the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program invites survivors, caregivers, and supporters to join its Warriors Book Club for a free virtual gathering.
This month, participants will explore the New York Times best-selling novel The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin.
The Warriors Book Club offers a welcoming space for individuals impacted by breast cancer to come together, connect, and share meaningful conversation. Each one-hour session brings together participants from across Long Island and New York State, fostering both literary enrichment and emotional support.
Zevin’s novel follows a disheartened bookstore owner whose life is transformed by unexpected relationships and the power of books. At its heart, the story is about second chances, community, and how stories can bring people together—much like the Warriors Book Club itself.
“Participants often tell us how much they value the connections they’ve made through our book club,” said Reyna Machado, MA, MBA, Executive Director of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program. “As we begin a new season, we look forward to diving into this next read with our loyal book club members, while also welcoming new faces who may be seeking community and understanding.”
