This program is designed to help strengthen and heighten Adelphi’s culture of service by honing leadership and service skills. Open to all staff and faculty.

Required Workshops

Those wishing to pursue this certificate are required to complete all four workshops.

Creating a Service Culture

This workshop will focus on how to improve the service culture in your position and department and apply positive strategies for building strong service relationships internally and externally.

Service Strategies

Learn to achieve outstanding service excellence in higher education today through a variety of individual and group activities. Develop the ability to implement the University’s strategies for service excellence in your department or unit, share service excellence best practices, and improve overall communication and interaction skills.

Key Elements in Support of Service

This workshop will focus on several key elements in support of creating a service culture. Elements of support including strong communications skills, role modeling of a service environment, and the importance of engaging employees in pursuit of a service culture will be covered.

Putting Service to Work

This session will summarize the important areas covered in the previous sessions and synthesize the important foundations for creating a service culture. This session includes the presentation of a Capstone project. (Prerequisites: Introduction: Creating a Service Culture; Service Strategies; Key Elements in Support of Service)
