The new mural is complete! Please join the reception and ribbon untying ceremony to inaugurate the mural located in the heart of Adelphi’s campus.

Adelphi is brightened and beautified by a mural that memorializes the educational journey of Latinx students who arrive on campus every year to fulfill a major life goal and hold dear the promise of commencement day.

The Hispanic Serving Institution Task Force, the Latin American and Latinx Studies Program and Department of Art and Art History invite you to a reception and ribbon untying ceremony to inaugurate the mural located on Swirbul Library.

We hope you will join us in celebrating the collaborative efforts that made this public art project possible.

For more information, please contact Jacqueline Olvera, Chair and Associate Professor of Sociology at jolvera@adelphi.edu.

This event is made in collaboration with the Latin American and Latinx Studies, Department of Art & Art History, Hispanic Serving Institution Task Force, Women’s Giving Circle, the University Libraries, the College of Arts and Sciences, Office of Student Affairs, and the Office of the Provost.
