Awards sponsored by the Faculty Senate Committee on Student Life for high-achieving Adelphi undergraduates.

Outstanding First-Year Student Award

The Outstanding First-Year Student Award honors an undergraduate first-year student who has demonstrated:

  • Academic excellence
  • Community/Campus involvement
  • Strong leadership

Based on the above criteria, the Committee selects several finalists to be interviewed. The winner receives a plaque and an Gift Card.

Instructions on how to nominate a student for this award are disseminated at the beginning of the spring semester.


To submit a nomination, please send an email to with the student’s name and a brief explanation of why the student should be considered for the award. Please indicate how the student demonstrates academic excellence, community/campus involvement, and strength in leadership.

Self-nominations will not be accepted.

Nominations are due by Monday, March 18, 2024.
