The History of Adelphi Contest

The SPARK Center invites all Adelphi University students to submit completed creative research projects exploring Adelphi’s past—from its founding in 1896 to today.

We are looking for works that illuminate our institutional journey, student life, cultural shifts, and community impact. Selected works will be showcased by the SPARK Center, and a $1,000 award will be presented for the most outstanding submission.

  • Eligibility: All Adelphi undergraduate and graduate students. We welcome both individual and group submissions.
  • Accepted Formats: We are accepting a wide variety of creative research formats. You may submit short films and multimedia projects, digital archives and timelines, oral histories and podcasts, visual art and photography, or traditional creative research papers.
  • Possible Topics: Possible topics include institutional milestones, student life across decades, cultural and social change, notable alumni and faculty, or the university's community impact.

The submission deadline is December 1, 2026
