When completing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, you’ll need to select the schools you want to receive your form. Understand what information you’ll be asked to provide to complete this section of the form. The colleges, career schools, or trade schools you include on your FAFSA form will consider you for financial aid if you’ve been accepted for admission. You can select up to 20 schools on the online FAFSA form. Select Schools To Include on Your FAFSA® Form

To sign and submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, you’ll first need to complete all the sections of the form, and review and edit any sections that you need to adjust. If you are an independent student with no other identified contributors, only you will need to sign your form. If you are a dependent student or an independent student with a contributor, your contributor(s) will also need to sign your form before it is considered complete. Review, Sign, and Submit Your FAFSA® Form

When it’s time to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, your dependency status will determine who will be required as a contributor on your form and what information they’ll need to provide. A contributor is anyone (including you, the student) who is required to provide information, consent and approval, and a signature on the FAFSA form. If you’re unsure whether you’re a dependent student or independent student, the answers you provide on your FAFSA form will determine your dependency status. Dependent students are required to report parent information and have at least one parent contributor. Independent students may have a spouse contributor.
