2022–2023 Faculty Excellence Awards Recognize Professional Dedication in Arts and Sciences, Education and Health Sciences, and Psychology

The winners of this year’s Faculty Excellence Awards were announced at the May 3 Full Faculty Meeting. Each year, Adelphi University recognizes and celebrates the contributions of its faculty with awards. Awards are given in three categories: teaching, service, and scholarly and creative work, with cash prizes for winners. This was also the third year that the University has given an award for social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.

“Adelphi University’s faculty make real our educational mission of transforming the lives of all students by creating a distinctive environment of intellectual rigor, research, creativity and community engagement,” said Christopher Storm, PhD, provost and executive vice president. “The awards provide recognition to faculty who exemplify outstanding skill in teaching, service, creative work and scholarship. Those who win these awards are recognized by their peers and by the institution as being standard bearers in teaching, service, creative work and scholarship.”

All of the nominees and winners showed strong practice reflecting the first goal in the Momentum 2 strategic plan: Academic Distinction in our Core Four. That initiative, setting the University’s 2022–2027 course, put forth that “World-class faculty, small classes and a uniquely personalized approach—focusing on the success of each student— will remain a hallmark of our University.”

Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees.
