Events for both the entertainment and education of other cultures.
In the Fall 2014 term, the department organized a variety of interesting events and outings relating to Spanish and Latin American culture. Beyond the very successful Flamenco session, we sponsored the following events:
October 18, 2014: Art at two NYC museums, a tour at the Hispanic Society of America, and a Repertorio Español play.
October 22: A campus session on Hispanic fusion music.
October 27: Campus viewing of the documentary Las maestras de la república
November 3: Prof. Sandra Castro of Anthropology talked on campus about immigration.
November 24: Dr. Lou Charnon-Deutsch spoke about the development and evolution of print culture in the 19th century.
We once again thank Prof. Simón-Alegre for organizing these wonderful events!
