Joel Weinberger, Ph.D.

In an op-ed in the Huffington PostJoel Weinberger, Ph.D., professor in Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies and an expert in subliminal messaging, provides a psychological explanation for President-elect Donald Trump’s unexpected victory.

“No matter how sophisticated your statistical analyses, if you are not looking at the right data, you are not going to make accurate predictions,” Dr. Weinberger explained. He offered his own advice and detailed analysis of the factors at play in voters’ minds, and the “implicit processes that also underlie decision making.”

Dr. Weinberger analyzed the results using empirical psychological findings–emotion charts and word associations–as well as clinical psychology theories to explain the feelings and motives of the electorate.
