Now that college decision day, May 1, has passed, Adelphi University reports a fourth consecutive record-setting year of applications from 13,723 prospective undergraduates, an 8 percent increase over last year. The Office of University Admissions met with nearly 25 percent of these applicants at Adelphi’s beautiful, award-winning Garden City campus, less than an hour from New York City.

“The continued growth in applications and enrollment is a sign of Adelphi’s increasing national appeal and recognition,” said Kristen Capezza, M.B.A. ’12, Adelphi’s vice president for enrollment management.

An institution rising fast in the rankings, Adelphi is attracting applicants worldwide, resulting in a diverse student body that currently hails from 41 states and 58 countries.

This fall, Adelphi will welcome more than 1,100 first-year students into one of its most diverse classes to date, a reflection of the University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. In just a few months, a class comprising approximately 20.5 percent Hispanic students, 14.7 percent Asian/Pacific Islander, 9.3 percent black/African American, 3.5 percent identifying as of two or more races, and 46.3 percent white (with an additional 5.5 percent undisclosed), will walk the paths and fill the classrooms of the campus.

“With small classes, hands-on learning and innovative ways to support students, Adelphi is committed to creating an education tailored to each and every student,” Capezza said. “We’re looking forward to welcoming the Class of 2023 to Adelphi.”
