The Dignity for All Students Act was passed by New York State to be mandated for all schools as of July 1, 2012. It addresses issues of harassment, discrimination and bullying based on a range of “protected classes,” such as race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and weight.

Adelphi applied and was accepted by the State to provide a mandated course to teacher education students and this summer, it is being piloted with Professor Cynthia Proscia, Health Studies, Dr. Karen Siris, Educational Leadership, and Dr. Devin Thornburg, Education.
