Many dance majors go on to perform, but others have used their Bachelor of Fine Arts to create their own companies or schools or go into health professions such as  physical therapy. 

Students in theater, political science, computer science and biochemistry expanded their horizons by working in a Broadway theater or a public relations defense firm, competing in a NASA competition, or collaborating on research at a university in Poland.

Faculty members from the theater and English departments will each lead a trip to the United Kingdom: one for English literature in York and the other for theater in London. 

Panthers jumped into action to serve local nonprofits before the fall semester began.

Associate Professor David Machlis, PhD, took a group of university leaders to Poland this spring to study not only the Holocaust but the roots of hatred. A few weeks later, Dr. Machlis’s Two Museums Program for Adelphi students won a national award for its efforts to build understanding and combat intolerance.

During a May 2023 webinar titled “Nurses Week: Putting the Pieces Together for Safe, Effective Care,” CNPH Dean Deborah Hunt, PhD ’12, said that patient safety and quality of care are integral to positive patient outcomes in all healthcare settings—but she cautioned that “adverse events” are still occurring at a “pretty alarming” rate.

According to Danny G. Hanna Kim, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Anthropology, has returned from a year away, studying and educating others about the Hindu community and religious group she has been researching for decades. Now she’s ready to complete a book on her work—and fuel her students’ passion for scholarship.

From helping clients cope with the effects of the pandemic to creating more climate-resilient communities to learning to heal through the arts, the School’s continuing ed workshops give mental health professionals the opportunity to gain valuable skills and earn credits. The Green House, an exhibit of paintings by Jennifer Maloney, associate professor of art and art history, opened at the Adele and Herbert J. Klapper Art Gallery in the Ruth S.
