Music Production and Sound Mixing
Build a foundation of the fundamentals of sound production and recording.
About the Course
Experience the intersection of creativity and technology in this hands-on introduction to modern music production. You’ll explore the tools and techniques behind digital composition, recording, and editing while learning how technology shapes the sound of today’s music.
Working with software such as Google Chrome Music Lab, Soundtrap, GarageBand, Logic, and Audacity, you’ll experiment with MIDI, digital synthesis, sampling, sequencing, and notation to create your own original tracks.
Students with an interest in music, media, or performance will gain valuable skills for future study and careers in music education, audio production, composition, recording, and broadcasting.

Meet Your Professor
 
							Justin Gunter is a percussionist, composer, and producer currently living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Justin studied Percussion Performance at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he earned a Bachelor of Music and an Artist Diploma. He has 15 years of experience as an educator and has taught students of all ages and abilities. As a performer, Justin has been lucky to work in a diverse range of projects as a freelance percussionist and as a composer/producer. Justin is passionate about the transformative effect that arts education can have on an individual and on a community and is excited to be a part of the Adelphi University community.
