An annual celebration of Black authors, literature and writers!

The African American Read-In is a national literacy initiative that celebrates Black authors and highlights the importance of diverse voices in literature. Through author readings and discussion, the event encourages students to engage with meaningful texts and develop a deeper appreciation for culture, history, and storytelling.

The Adelphi community and the wider public are invited to read and reflect on the literary works of celebrated Black authors. A selection of books by these authors will be available for participants to read during the event. This year’s event also features Adelphi students serving as guest authors.

We look forward to celebrating the voices and stories that illuminate the culture, history, experiences, and contributions of African Americans.

This event is part of Adelphi University’s Black History Month Celebration.
