Planned and Unplanned Endings in Couple Therapy: Issues and Technical Choices
This two session seminar examines types of endings encountered in Couple Therapy. Unplanned endings receive special attention as well as optimal endings.
Participants will learn about optimal termination. Participants will learn to anticipate unplanned endings. Participants will examine technical options when dealing with sudden endings. Participants will recognize personal responses and countertransference with couples that prematurely end treatment.
This workshop is part of the Program in Couple Therapy Series.

Carl Bagnini, LCSW, BCD
Carl Bagnini is faculty and supervisor, Adelphi University Post graduate programs in psychoanalysis, psychotherapy and couple therapy. Carl has published 30 book chapters and papers, on clinical topics, published one book: Keeping Couples in Treatment (Aronson, 2012), and presented in the US and Internationally for the IPA and APA. His practice is in Port Washington, NY where he supervises online and treats individuals, couples and families in person.
