Mission

The mission of the Care Team is to support students who are experiencing or causing distress that interferes with learning, development, or success. We seek to balance the unique needs of individuals and our broader Adelphi community.

What We Do

As part of the Office of the Dean of Students and Strategic Initiatives, the primary role of Adelphi’s Care Team is to ensure that our students are referred to and connected with appropriate resources to address their issue. We also educate, create awareness and provide access to Adelphi’s resources for community support and student resources.

The Care Team is available to offer support for all students. A trained case manager will provide referrals or support in a manner that respects the autonomy of individuals and responds in the least intrusive manner.

The Care Team conducts intake assessments, works with individuals to recommend intervention and support plans, coordinates services for Adelphi community members and provides case management.

Care Team case managers can coach, refer, brainstorm, advocate, empower, and provide follow-up to encourage appropriate self-care and self-advocacy. The Care Team is not counseling or therapy.
