We measure your success—and ours too. Our Assurance of Learning processes allows us to develop, evaluate, revise and monitor what and how students learn in the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business.

On one designated day each term, work in undergraduate and graduate capstone courses will be assessed to measure your progress toward mastering five skills that we know are essential for success in the business world:

  • Ethics
  • Cultural competence
  • Effective and professional communication
  • Critical thinking
  • Leadership potential

The data we collect from each assessment provides valuable feedback for our students. But it does much more: a faculty-led committee uses this data, along with separate feedback from students and employers, to improve and fine-tune our business courses. Students who wish to comment on their experience with the Assurance of Learning process, may do so using the link below.

For more than 15 years, Willumstad faculty members have systematically monitored and evaluated curricula in our undergraduate and graduate degree programs through the Assurance of Learning Committee. The committee includes faculty representatives from business disciplines across the School of Business, with a faculty member as chair. Two department chairs and the Willumstad associate dean serve as ex-officio members.
