One-to-one guidance and support from experienced juniors, seniors and graduate students.
David Oroza, Adelphi’s Director of Pre-Professional Advising and Fellowships, welcomes first-year, sophomore and new transfer students who are interested in pursuing these professional careers:
- Dentistry
- Law
- Medicine
- Pharmacy
- Physical Therapy
- Physician Assistant
- Podiatry
- Occupational Therapy
- Optometry
- Veterinary Medicine
Students interested in these careers will be connected to our Pre-Professional Ambassadors, trained by the Office of Pre-Professional Advising and Fellowships. Our mentors are high-achieving juniors, seniors and graduate students who are willing to share their experiences and offer guidance and advice about preparing for a professional career.
We also help interested students find campus resources and professional development opportunities, help establish peer relationships, and promote academic and personal success in the fields of law and health professions.
Our Mission
The Pre-Professional Ambassador Program is dedicated to the academic success and persistence of its participants. A student-centered approach is the program’s foundation for understanding and serving the diverse needs of its students. Each student is given individualized attention from the staff and ambassadors to encourage progress in their personal and academic development. By participating, students can become better informed about their own skills, the University, campus resources, and opportunities. The services are performed with integrity, understanding, and a desire to assist and support pre-professional students.
