Portfolio Workshop BFA Theatre Design/Tech
Event Actions
A hands-on portfolio workshop empowering aspiring theatre designers, technicians, and managers to present their work with confidence.
The Adelphi University Department of Theatre is pleased to offer BFA Design, Technology, and Management Portfolio Workshops for local high school students.
These workshops are part of our commitment to supporting and inspiring the next generation of theatre designers, technicians and stage managers.
Led by our experienced design and production faculty, the workshop is designed to help you present your work with confidence and clarity. We will begin with an overview of the department and our programs, followed by examples of what a strong portfolio for a BFA theatre program looks like. From there, we will engage in an interactive conversation covering topics such as:
- Selecting materials that best represent you and your interests
- Preparing thoughtful responses to common portfolio and interview questions
- Presenting yourself with confidence and professionalism
- Showcasing your work clearly and effectively
- Addressing any questions or concerns you may have
Following the group discussion, there will be time to review individual portfolios or resumes. While some students receive direct feedback, others will observe, learn and apply the insights to their own materials—and everyone benefits from the shared experience.
Our goal is for all participants to leave feeling energized, informed, and empowered to take ownership of their portfolio and interview process.
