Dear Adelphi Community,

On September 30, we shared with you our plan to engage an external firm for an objective review of the University’s current complaint processes. We are pleased to update you that Baker Tilly US, LLP, a nationally recognized higher education accounting and advisory firm, has been selected. The firm will review the University’s policies and procedures and offer us insight and advice on whether there are areas that could be improved. Baker Tilly will begin its work during the week of October 26, 2020.

Its review will include looking at the processes and procedures for handling complaints in academic, administrative and student life matters, such as dining, housing, academic support, student counseling, public safety, student financial services, alleged violations of the Code of Conduct, and allegations of sexual misconduct, discrimination and bias, including those which fall under Title IX. To gain additional insight and perspective, Baker Tilly’s consulting team will also talk with University staff and representative groups of students and faculty.

We anticipate receiving feedback and recommendations by the end of the fall semester and will keep the Adelphi University community informed.

Thank you for your honest feedback about your experience at Adelphi; it helps to inform operational and procedural adjustments that promote a positive experience for all members of the Adelphi community.

Sincerely,

James Perrino
Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration

R. Sentwali Bakari, PhD
Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students
