Justyna Widera, Ph.D. in labThe National Science Foundation awarded more than $246,000 to Justyna Widera-Kalinowska, Ph.D., associate professor of chemistry. The grant will ensure the involvement of underrepresented minorities in STEM and enable Dr. Widera-Kalinowska to continue to bring Adelphi students to the University of Warsaw to conduct research.

Maria Nagan, Ph.D., chemistryAdelphi chemistry majors now have even greater access to cutting-edge technology, thanks to Professor Maria Nagan, Ph.D. Dr. Nagan is one of 27 members of the Molecular Education and Research Consortium in Undergraduate Computational ChemistRY (MERCURY), which just received a grant of $225,000 from the National Science Foundation to purchase a supercomputer.

Chemistry students will be able to pursue research that could lead to treatment for the STD trichomoniasis, thanks to a grant of more than $300,000 from the National Institutes of Health. Research will be carried out under the guidance of Associate Professors Brian Stockman, Ph.D., principal investigator, and Melissa Van Alstine-Parris, Ph.D., co-investigator.
