Preparing for your credit-bearing pre-college experience? Find details about housing, meals, coursework, campus life, tuition, and more—everything you need to know before arriving at Adelphi.

Pre-College Campus Life

Living on campus in Residence Hall A is highly encouraged for the full pre-college experience, but commuter options are available.

Students dine at the Ruth S. Harley University Center café, which offers grill items, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and daily specials.

Residential students live in shared suites with private bathrooms and laundry on each floor.

Resident Assistants (RAs) live on the same floors as students and are available 24/7. They conduct nightly curfew checks, and campus security staff monitor residence hall access points. While students have independence, supervision is close and support is always available.

Courses are taught at the college level and include readings, papers, and discussions. Expect one to two hours of study per class hour. Faculty are available to help you succeed.

Getting Ready for the Pre-College Program

Bring casual clothing, bedding, towels, toiletries, and any items listed on the suggested packing list. A laptop or tablet with a keyboard is strongly recommended for coursework.

Students check in on their designated orientation and move-in day. Early arrivals are not permitted. Students are responsible for arranging their own travel.

Adelphi University is located at One South Avenue in Garden City, New York. Maps and directions to campus are available.

After submitting your deposit, you’ll receive instructions to set up an Adelphi eCampus account. Your schedule will be posted in the CLASS portal, and course syllabi will be available in Moodle.

Pre-College Policies and Support

Students may leave campus only with written permission from a parent or guardian and prior approval from the program director. Visitors must also be approved in advance. Leaving without permission may result in dismissal.

Attendance is mandatory, and students are expected to arrive on time for all classes and activities.

Students seeking accommodations should contact Adelphi’s Student Access Office at least 3–4 weeks before the program. Services are free of charge. Additional academic or social support is available through the Learning Resource Program or Bridges to Adelphi for an added fee.

For academic or housing concerns, contact the Summer Pre-College Program office at 516.877.3410 or precollege@adelphi.edu.
