Each year on this global day of generosity, the Adelphi community joins together to create a brighter future for our community and beyond.
On December 2, 2025, our Panther community united to support some of our very worthy causes.
Together, we set a new GivingTuesday record, raising more than $220,000 as we spread the #Give4Adelphi word across campus and throughout the world.
In response to recent events, Interim President Chris Storm and his family kicked off GivingTuesday by personally matching $14,000 in gifts to the Student Emergency Support Fund. This fund provides direct financial assistance to students experiencing unforeseen financial hardship that could interrupt their education. Every dollar raised will be doubled to strengthen this safety net and help students like those impacted by the delays in the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Hurricane Melissa meet their basic needs and stay on track to graduate.

Why Panthers Give
We are deeply grateful to our donors, whose generosity transforms lives and strengthens our community. Here’s a glimpse into the heartfelt reasons behind their gifts.
- “Received a wonderful education at Adelphi.”
- “Last year’s New Jersey Alumni Gathering reminded me of how much I enjoyed my Adelphi experience and how influential it was on my adult life and career.”
- “I have been the recipient of giving in the past and know how important and impactful others’ kindness and thoughtfulness can be. It means so much to me to be able to pay the gift of giving forward.”
- “Many in my family have dealt with cancer, and it has always been my mission to help those with this condition. I also wanted to show my gratitude to Adelphi, as they have helped me in difficult times.”
- “I had taken part in an excellent, very helpful support group a number of years ago. Also, I have been impressed with the Hy Weinberg Center of Communication Disorders, which has been a great service to me.”
- “My son is a better person because he’s an Adelphi alumnus.”
- “Tommy, if given more time, would have brought art to students across the world. This is for him and his unfinished endeavors.”
- “He’s my dad, and he supports Adelphi whenever and wherever he is able.”
- “In honor of my bad a$$ Mama!”
- “My mom and wife had breast cancer. I loved my time as a student at Adelphi!”
- “My sister is a breast cancer thriver and volunteers on the hotline.”
- “My wife is a three-time cancer survivor.”
- “Fortunate to be a survivor and help others as a volunteer for this important program.”
- “Great causes for a great university!”
- “I have been a volunteer for the Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program for over 3 decades. Not a day goes by that the Adelphi staff and volunteers don’t work tirelessly to help all men and women dealing with breast cancer. They are so committed to providing the best resources and services for breast cancer.”
- “I would like to pay tribute to Kim Newman, Marketing Director and Communications Specialist for the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program. Kim is an ‘unsung hero’ whose behind-the-scenes work for the program has been second to none and quite impactful. Her selfless nature, drive and dedication to the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program are an inspiration to everyone at the program and in the community. Thank you, Kim, for your outstanding contributions.”
- “For the amazing staff of the breast cancer program!”
- “The Panther Pantry helps so many students in need!!!”
- “I always contribute every year.”
- “I have worked at Adelphi for close to two decades, and I want to show support.”

- “Adelphi University had a positive impact on my life. I want the same for others.”
- “In addition to being a current employee, my husband, brother, sister-in-law, and I are all alumni; my son is a senior and my nephew is a freshman. Our family is a big supporter of Adelphi.”
- “I used my GI Bill after serving in the US Air Force in Vietnam (1968–1972). I earned my BBA from Baruch in the CUNY system and later completed my MBA at Adelphi. It was a great place to learn—so flexible that I finished my degree in just two years. My granddaughter attended Adelphi, and my grandniece is there now, both in the Speech Pathology program. I return often for Veterans events. I love AU. Go Panthers!”

- “As an undergraduate student, I received an Adelphi scholarship that really helped me through my four years. I am glad to be able to help other students now.”
- “Pay it forward… one good turn deserves another…”
