Dr. Ranjana Kumari is a renowned women’s rights activist who has played a crucial role in mobilizing women for the 33% women reservation bill in India to increase women’s political representation in parliament.

As the Director of the Centre for Social Research (CSR), an NGO that works towards the empowerment of women, Dr. Kumari has been at the forefront of the women’s movement in India. She has been actively advocating for women’s rights, gender equality, and the need for more women’s representation in politics.

In addition to speaking at the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women on March 20, 2023 (in honor of Women’s History Month), she will be at Adelphi on March 8, 2023 to discuss her activism and the evolution of gender relations in one of the world’s largest and fastest growing economies.
